Mesalands Community College is a proud Hispanic-serving and Rural-serving Institution, a member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, Excelencia in Education and led an Excelencia in Education President for Latino Student Success. As part of our rich tradition of serving Hispanic students and our commitment to Hispanic student success, Mesalands Community College is forming a pool of bilingual faculty (English and Spanish) in an effort to expand our instruction and services to Spanish-speaking students. We welcome resumes from across the United States from bilingual faculty as we prepare to expand our programs and build upon our record of student success and access. In addition to teaching, all employees are encouraged to assume another smaller College assignments of their choosing to support student success and College efficiency and for which they are additionally compensated under a separate stipend contract. The successful candidate’s compensation and academic rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) is determined by experience and education. Mesalands does not tenure faculty, but it does engage a ranking system which incorporates progressive increases in pay and bonus pay for excellence. Employees, including part time, have competitive salaries and potential for growth.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
• Master's degree in an academic discipline from a regionally accredited College or university or master's degree in any field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in desired teaching area from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Those teaching in non-transferrable, technical or occupation degree programs may also apply and may be considered with a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited College or University. Instruction would be limited to non-transferrable courses and
workforce development courses.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate through experience a learner-centered philosophy resulting in student success.
• The applicant should experienced and proficient in multiple delivery methods including face-to-face, day and evening, hybrid, online, polysynchronous, and accelerated course modalities, preferably Moodle LMS.
• The successful candidate must possess professionalism and exemplary communication and presentation skills.
• The successful candidate must, not only understand, but fully embrace the comprehensive community college mission and must have experience with a diverse population of students including under-represented demographics.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate by experience a commitment to student success and access.
• The successful candidate must contribute to the positive spirit of MCC through an engaging, fun, and welcoming demeanor with students, colleagues, staff, and the community.
• The successful candidate must be bilingually fluent in Spanish and English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference for candidates who have worked in an Hispanic-Serving Institution or a Rural-Serving Institution.

• Preference to candidates who have experience with or embrace a student success agenda through guided pathways.

Language skills:
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills a must. Ability to read and interpret texts related to the discipline; documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions; and procedure manuals. Ability to write required reports and correspondence, and memos. Ability to
effectively present information to individuals and groups of students and others from within Mesalands Community College and out in the community.

Mathematical skills:
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.

Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

Technology skills:
Computer Competency; Capable of applying and maneuvering within various software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet.
