Other Conditions: Lecturer in Interdisciplinary Studies, College Success, part-time, general funds, for placement in lecturer pool beginning Fall 2022 subject to availability of satisfactory performance, program needs, renewal of funds and actual staffing requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a lecturer, with the following related responsibilities:

  1. Teach College Success Courses (IS 108, IS 108L & IS 111, or other new IS courses offered) in a variety of formats, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid;
  2. Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress;
  3. Assess student learning using course competencies and program learning outcomes;
  4. Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught; and
  5. Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline; and
  6. Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's in Social Sciences, Education, or related field and Five-Day Experiential Learning Institute (FELI) or Kahi?iaka Professional Development Certificate from Kapiolani CC;

OR

  • Bachelor's in Social Sciences, Education, or related field, 3 years of experience working in a Higher Education setting, and Five-Day Experiential Learning Institute (FELI) or Kahi?iaka Professional Development Certificate from Kapiolani CC

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 months of teaching experience at a community college;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with community college students;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.
