Adult Education Instructor Part-Time (Grant County)

Campus Location: Gateway Community & Technical College Grant County - offsite location

Department: Adult Education

Summary:
Gateway Community & Technical College invites applications for a part-time Adult Education Instructor. This part-time position will be responsible for teaching reading, math, and writing skills in preparation for the GED exam including math through high school algebra levels. Instruction will be at the Grant County Adult Education Center in Williamstown KY and the Grant County Detention Center (jail).

Duties:

  • Record keeping and documentation of student progress is required of all instructors
  • Be able to use a variety of instructional strategies and tools as appropriate
  • Administering tests.
  • Providing student support.
  • Instruction will include reading, math, and writing skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

**Must be able to pass the Test of Adult Basic Education at an NRS Level 6 to qualify

Qualifications:
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience with online instructional delivery.
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).
