Full Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Assumes responsibility for instruction of appropriate classes in Radiologic Technology leading to qualifications for State and National examinations. Supervises students in clinical settings; serves as liaison between college and members of the radiologic technology profession; assists in arranging laboratory experiences; observes, evaluates and records student performance both at college and in the clinical setting; and assists in the maintenance of student records.

Faculty job responsibilities include the development/review of curriculum and assessment of learning outcomes to improve teaching and learning in achieving El Camino College's mission of institutional effectiveness, quality educational programs, and vibrant student support services. Some assignments may include dual-enrollment courses offered offsite on high school campuses.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years full-time experience in the field; OR
Associate's degree and six (6) years full-time experience; OR
The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above must explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; OR
Valid California community college credential in appropriate subject (per California Education Code 87355 issued prior to July 1, 1990); AND
Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
All applicants must have certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and the California State Department of Health Services, and a minimum of two years experience as a practitioner in an acute care facility.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Community college teaching experience.
Three years experience in the field.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Part-time teaching assignment(s) for the 2023 spring semester. A teaching demonstration will be required during the interview process. Teaching assignments may include off-site locations. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), transcripts. Candidates selected for employment must agree to be fingerprinted, submit proof of COVID Vaccination, submit Certification of Completion of the Tuberculosis Risk Assessment and/or Examination, provide will be required to provide proof of eligibility for employment in the United Status, and present a valid social security card upon hire.
SALARY
Part-time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is $90.97 - $116.13 (lecture), $68.95 - $88.00 (lab) per hour depending on education and experience.

5) Certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and the California State Department of Health Services.
6) Evidence of a valid community college credential, if applicant holds one.
