Job Description:

The Campus Services/Receiving Department seeks a part time incumbent to assist higher level staff with responsibilities of the department.  The incumbent will perform a variety of recurring light and heavy manual laboring activities including furniture moves and deliveries.  The incumbent will also assist in receiving packages and parcels and fill supply orders.


Requirements:

Required Qualifications:  The successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and one of the following:  

  • A high school or equivalency diploma.
  • One year of experience in grounds maintenance, general maintenance and repair work, or general cleaning work.
  • One year of experience in the operation of automotive equipment such as a tractor, truck or related equipment* (*NOTE: Experience driving a personal vehicle is not counted as acceptable experience.

Initiative, industriousness in work performance, mechanical aptitude, and physical strength & agility is also required.  Depending on the work assignment, the incumbent must meet standards of OSHA regulation 1910.134 Respiratory Protection, and will be required to meet Federal, State and local standards with respect to health and safety.

Preferred Qualifications:  Forklift experience/operation, computer applications and automated systems is a plus.  


Additional Information:

Work Schedule: The work schedule will be up to 28 hours per week.

Hourly Rate of Pay:   $15.25 per hour, no benefits.
