Posting Summary | Under the direction of the Student Health and Wellness Center Director, the physician I performs direct patient primary medical care including but not limited to general medical problems, routine gynecology and dermatology, minor psychiatric problems, routine primary care orthopedics, travel medicine, and minor surgery. Assesses the general physical, developmental, and psychosocial health status of individuals. The physician consults and collaborates with other health care team members; acts as a preceptor for medical students, and other health care professional students, and attends scheduled meetings concerning medical and administrative matters. The physician will participate in outreach to the Campus as requested. The physician also consults and collaborates with other health care team members including APNs, RN, psychologists, clinical social worker, substance abuse counselor, and psychiatrist and will also collaborate and consult with multiple departments on campus including the Dean of Student Offices, Athletics, Housing and Residence Life, RUPD, etc. |

Work Arrangement | Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position requires a fully on-site work arrangement and may be eligible for a compressed workweek or a flex workday schedule. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. COVID-19 Immunization Requirement | Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employees offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | Current knowledge of adolescent/young adult medicine Manual dexterity to perform medical tasks unassisted (eg. suturing, bimanual exams, CPR) Ability to understand and communicate in the English language Ability to work at a pace consistent with the Wellness Centers needs to insure that students are served in a timely manner, both in person and in telehealth Ability to physically assist patients as necessary, may entail lifting patients, pushing wheel chairs, or carrying students who have fainted Ability to work with interruptions, multiple tasks, and stress of dealing with multiple patients as a fast pace Ability to make appropriate clinical observations and finish documentation in a timely manner. Understanding and skill in creating and working in a diverse and inclusive environment Excellent communication skills |
