Position Summary
Prairie State College seeks innovative adjunct faculty to teach composition course offerings (ENG 101/102) for online and in-person offerings. Successful candidates will demonstrate the following: excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a flexible, student-centered approach to teaching writing; the ability to engage a diverse student population; and familiarity with research/scholarship concerning pedagogy in the composition classroom and the community college environment. The English Department offers a collegial and supportive faculty peer environment, with opportunities for substantive faculty development.

Available offerings will be daytime face-to-face courses and online courses.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in English or a closely related discipline, with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in English.

Preferred Qualifications
Priority will be given to candidates with graduate coursework and/or training in the teaching of writing; experience teaching in community college environment; completed coursework/credential for online pedagogy (required for teaching online courses).
