ABOUT THE POSITION AND THE DEPARTMENT
This position exists to provide administrative management and leadership for the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), which currently includes the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Vacuum Technology, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and Engineering. The position is in the Academic Affairs Division of the college, serves on the Deans Council and Administrative Council, and reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The Interim Dean will participate in short- and long-range planning, identify and address problems, and work to establish and maintain productive, collegial, and professional working relationships with the college community and college partners in the service area. The position requires a thorough understanding of budgeting, supervision, faculty support, evaluation, and post-secondary education, as well as a broad understanding of the academic disciplines represented in the division.

The following qualifications are required to move forward your candidacy; as such, ensure your application contains descriptions of your work experience sufficient to demonstrate competency in each of the following:
Education: Masters degree in a related discipline within the division from an accredited institution
Type and Length of Experience: Five years of higher education teaching experience. Evidence of academic leadership roles and responsibilities.

Education: Doctorate degree in education, leadership, or related discipline from an accredited institution
Type and Length of Experience: Several years of experience in an academic leadership position with a successful track record in previous positions. Progressive job growth experience which confirms demonstrated knowledge and skills evident to fulfill job responsibilities.
