Full Job Description

The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in Sports and Exercise Studies at the Assistant Professor rank.
 
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses among the following: introduction to sport and exercise, concepts in exercise science, essentials in strength and conditioning and human wellness and physical fitness. In addition, successful candidates will work to create hands-on learning and practical experiences for students; as well as, actively participate in program development and assessment.
 
Tenure track faculty teach a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year, advise/mentor students, and seek university service and scholarship within the discipline.
 
 
Position Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a doctorate (or ABD) in Exercise Science or a related field. Candidates with college teaching experience and interest and experience in strength and conditioning will be given preference. Applicants must be able to communicate and work effectively with students, staff, alumni, adjunct faculty, and members of the professional community.
