Community College is a two-year, public institution of higher education and the fifth largest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia. Our college is seeking qualified individuals to teach primarily first-year college composition and developmental English courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats. Full-time responsibilities include teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester at both campus locations, and may include a mixture of day and night classes, and in online formats. Selected candidate will also lead course and program development and assessment, advise students, and actively serve on division and college committees. This is a full-time nine-month teaching faculty position.
 

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in English, Composition/Rhetoric or Writing from an accredited college or university; or equivalent degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in English, Composition/Rhetoric or Writing. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and demonstrated communication skills required. The successful candidate must be willing to teach a combination of day, evening, weekend, and online classes with the ability to be flexible to work at any of the Colleges locations, and have proven experience with online teaching formats and instructional technology. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Related education beyond Masters; postsecondary teaching experience, especially in two-year colleges; experience teaching first-year college composition and developmental English in a two-year college, and Writing Center experience.
