Full Job Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Teach Adult Basic Education curriculum to students in preparation for students to take the high school equivalency examination or to complete their adult high school diploma. This will be at the West Stanly Christian Ministries Coffee Shop in Stanfield on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 8:30 pm.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelors degree in education or a related field
Preferred:
- NC Teaching Certification and/or masters degree in Education
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Serve as an instructor to adult students in the Adult Basic Education program at the main SCC Campus and any off-campus location.
OTHER DUTIES
- Instruct students using ABE/AHS curriculum standards.
- Incorporate contextual learning in each lesson to promote student success.
- Administer assessments according to NCCCS policies.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely, efficient manner.
- Submit paperwork to the ABE coordinator either via US Mail or in person delivery in a timely, efficient manner.
- Attend all professional development sessions set by the College and Career Readiness Director at SCC
- Comply with SCC dress code requirements.
- Must maintain a professional demeanor.
