Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: 

Under moderate to limited supervision, assist with HR processes throughout the department as necessary, with a focus on payroll and benefits.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Enter new employee information into Colleague. 
  • Provide support in payroll administration, including data entry of payroll, employment verifications, employee leave maintenance and be able to assist employees with questions.
  • Provide support to HR department and employees with benefits administration.
  • Assist with the onboarding and off-boarding of employees.
  • Manage tuition benefits including Kirkwood staff and dependent tuition benefits.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

  • Must be a self-motivated, energetic, and creative individual with the ability to solve problems.
  • Must be accurate and detail oriented.
  • Possess good judgment in making decisions, often with limited input from the supervisor.
  • Be able and willing to represent the College in a positive and professional manner. 
  • Proficient knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office software, and other HR computer systems.
  • Work effectively and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.
  • Be positive and helpful under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with a high degree of accuracy in written and oral communications.
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

 

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work.  Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Associates Degree, alternatively up to four years of related work experience.
  • Strong technical and computer skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Associates degree or higher.
  • Degreear with payroll processing, including tax, benefit, and other deductions.
  • Ellucian - Colleague experience.
