Construction Adjunct Instructor (Part-time)
- Classroom and lab instruction in Construction
- Prepare instructional materials prior to the beginning of each term
- Provide written feedback on student performance
- Assess student performance and assign grades
- Participation in program and college committees
- Involvement in professional activities/organizations
- Promote good public relations via contacts and regular communications with business
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements: A high school diploma or GED AND completion of a program of preparation in the teaching field or related field from an accredited private or public postsecondary institution, or completion of an equivalent military or company-sponsored training program, or an approved apprenticeship program with verifiable credentials, qualifications, or competencies appropriate for teaching the course content. Applicant must have a minimum of five years paid work experience within the last 7 years in field. Work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels included in the carpentry instructional program; be able to work a flexible schedule which includes some evening hours and handle administrative responsibilities related to position; possess strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills; proficient with current applications in computer technology and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred requirements: Prior Post-Secondary Teaching experience.
Physical demands: Work is typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) – four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts lightweight objects up to 50 LBS. The exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible. The ability to speak clearly is required. The ability to hear and understand at a normal conversational level is required.
Salary: Hourly rate commensurate with education and work experience. No state of GA Benefits.
