Job Description

Mitchell Technical College is seeking a Student Success Coach to join the Center for Student Success team beginning January 2023.  This 10-month position will coach, counsel, and support students requiring educational and personal assistance. Areas of assistance may include remediation for students displaying academic disadvantage through entrance testing; educational records; retention; academic progress; and attendance throughout the year.  The coach/counselor will help students meet their academic, personal and career goals through advising, counseling, and career coaching. 

 

In addition, the position will provide support for on-campus student organizations. The successful candidate will also teach in related areas (part-time) to include Student Success. Bachelors degree in a related area required.  Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; proficiency with technology; excellent computer skills. Experience communicating information; maintaining programming; and implementing initiatives to create a balanced focus on equity for students, faculty, and staff. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.  Preference will be given to candidates with a degree and/or experience in college and/or student life. 

 

Candidates must be able to pass a state and federal criminal background check.

Annual Security Report/Campus Security Crime Statistics

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires that the colleges Annual Security and Fire Safety Report which includes crime statistics be made available to prospective employees and prospective students upon request. Mitchell Techs Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported Clery crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault prevention and response, timely warnings, emergency response, and other matters.
