Job Description
The position assists and advises students regarding:
(1) Applications,
(2) Registration,
(3) Course selection,
(4) Career development,
(5) Graduation requirements, and
(6) Transfer process and
(7) Evaluations.
The position evaluates transcripts and performs degree and graduation audits. Advises current and prospective students on degrees offered by the College and provides general information regarding college policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer applicants with:
(1) experience in community college student services, specifically advising,
(2) experience and knowledge of community college programs and student populations, (3) demonstrated cross-training experience in multiple student services departments,
(4) experience using multiple resources to assess and review high school and college transcripts,
(5) experience in effectively communicating and suggesting resolutions for student degree completion situations,
(6) experience with a college student record system, and
(7) demonstrated computer proficiency and Microsoft applications experience.

Supplemental Job Information
This position provides academic advising to prospective, current, former, transfer and first time in college students. Advising contacts may be in-person, by phone or email or through small or large group presentations. The position requires several evening and Saturday hours, particularly during peak registration periods in January, May and August.

This position requires at least an awarded Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited educational institution. Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume at the time of application.
