Position Summary

 

Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a dynamic and talented tenure-track Assistant Professor, English to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success. Essential Functions

 

The Assistant Professor, English is charged with instruction as well as assisting in course development and improvement, teaching at satellite campuses, contributing to college events, advising students, meeting scheduled office hours, and participating in discipline, division, and college meetings and committees. The Assistant Professor is expected to be committed to academic excellence and continuous improvement, support and contribute to diversity and student success initiatives, and remain current in their subject area and teaching methodologies.

The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic teacher who fosters collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders. This individual will be able to demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching and learning strategies as well as evaluate student learning and progress. The successful individual will demonstrate the spirit of an effective communicator and a collaborative faculty member with a strong understanding of the Colleges mission and goals for our students.

 

Experience & Education

 

Qualified candidates must have a masters degree in English with all fields of English considered with experience in teaching Composition required. The ideal candidates will be committed to teaching developmental courses, as well as college-level classes. The teaching load consists of five (5) courses per semester or yearly total of ten (10) courses.
