Salary and benefits will be based on the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and teach courses in the approved curriculum using teaching methods that support the success of diverse students.
  • Assess student academic achievement at classroom, department, and college level.
  • Participate in the department, as well as the larger college community, through a variety of activities (e.g., curriculum development, program review, service on committees, student clubs, etc.).

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: ( expected to have to enter job)
  • Education Requirement
    • Masters degree with a major in political science or
    • Masters degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in political science.

     


Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: (desired but not expected to have to enter job)
  • Teaching experience at the community college level.
  • Expertise and experience in multiple modalities, including course design and teaching in-person, hybrid, and online asynchronous classes
  • Demonstrated student centered approach to teaching and learning
  • Evidence of active and experiential learning strategies
  • Experience in assessment of student learning that includes a variety of summative and formative strategies
  • Demonstrated success working with a student body of diverse cultures, situations, interests, and abilities
  • Ph.D. in Political Science
