Job Description

 

MACC is seeking candidates interested in part-time adjunct teaching of non-credit customized courses.  This position will be on an as-needed basis with pay by the hour.  

Candidates with industry experience in a variety of subject areas are encouraged to apply.  Examples of periodically requested customized courses include, but are not limited to: technical manufacturing skills (Electricity, Welding, CNC, Fluid Power, PLC), computer related skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc), and other professional skills (Leadership, Customer Service, Project Management, Communication, etc).  

Applicants will be added to our "pool" of instructors. Industry experience in the subject area is required.  Instructor will report to the Director of Workforce Development and Dean of Workforce Development and Technical Education.

Qualifications

  • 3 years industry experience in subject area
  • Degree preferred in subject area
  • Teaching experience preferred

 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Teach classes assigned by the Workforce Development Center which could include, but are not restricted to, day, evening, on-site at company location, or any campus location;
  2. Provide effective instruction that encompasses active and meaningful learning activities and frequent and timely feedback to students regarding their progress;
  3. Provide effective instruction that encompasses the safety protocols for lab use safety, equipment use safety, and industry related safety protocols; meets the needs of industry and industry standards; satisfies key learning objectives and skill attainment in the subject area;
  4. Develop course materials/handouts, lectures and labs, and update regularly to ensure relevancy, currency, and alignment with course goals and desired outcomes.
