General Description of Position
Under the general direction and supervision of the Administrative Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research, the Associate Director, Institutional Research and Data Analytics is responsible for providing leadership, project management and coordination of the Institutional Research tasks. The Associate Director, Institutional Research and Data Analytics has primary responsibility for overseeing IR team projects as well as developing, analyzing, reviewing and reporting complex data utilizing reliable and valid research and statistical methodologies. This position will primarily utilize Tableau as well as other software products to conduct both standard and ad-hoc statistical reports in support of decision making. The Associate Director, Institutional Research and Data Analytics supports data reporting; analyzes complex data sets by using research methods, quantitative and qualitative analysis, statistical techniques; develops and maintains fact books; and supports the development of reliable and valid survey research and reports. This is a full-time position.
Work contacts will include administrators, faculty, staff, students, representatives of business/industry, community organizations, national accrediting agencies, and State and Federal education entities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Collects, compiles, analyzes and summarizes data to support institutional decision-making and policy analysis.
Organizes, analyzes and interprets information clearly and effectively, in written and/or visual form.
Designs and conducts trainings about data usage and interpretation for institutional decision-making.
Coordinates the work effort and response for standard reports as well as time-critical, ad-hoc requests for data and information.
Provides leadership and project management of Institutional Research survey and data projects.
Provides support for and assistance in defining and analyzing data related to effectiveness measures including the College’s strategic plan performance indicators, IPEDS metrics, and accreditation metrics.
Supports the analysis of complex survey data including CCSSE results, student and faculty/staff satisfaction survey data, employer demand data, and other survey results.
Develops and implements procedures for collecting, analyzing and reporting qualitative and quantitative information.
Conducts statistical analysis and develops data visualizations in support of college-wide initiatives.
Utilizes Tableau, Access, Excel, SPSS and other software to analyze quantitative data and create reports and interactive dashboards utilizing best practices in data visualization.
Learns and applies emerging technologies and advances as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized and timely manner.
Creates and reviews standard and customized reports and conducts data presentations upon request.
Provides research and statistical support for the development and submission of grants.
Serves as a resource for the Institutional Research team.
Coordinates the administration, data collection and production of periodic reports and materials required for program review.
Designs statistically valid and reliable instruments to support the development of new programs and the assessment of existing programs and services
Serves in the absence of the Director as assigned.
Performs or leads with other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Psychology, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study.
Three (3) years work experience related to data analysis or research.
Experience in leading and managing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of and experience using statistical research methods, analysis and assessment as part of a job responsibility.
Intermediate or expert level of experience using Tableau, Power BI or other comparable data visualization software.
Experience working with large data sets (es: data warehouse, Student Information System, CRM, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
Experience in Institutional Research, data collection, and analysis strongly preferred.
Master’s Degree in Social/Behavioral Sciences, education or related field of study.
Work experience in a post-secondary education Institutional Research environment.
Experience directing and managing the work of others.
Directly related work experience beyond the minimum three (3) years.
Experience leading and managing research projects.
Salary
$68,233/yr
