Job Description:

The Assessment Assistant will review and evaluate high school GPA's, high school transcripts, ACT, MCAS, PSAT, SAT scores and other documentation that provide evidence of high school attendance or completion for placement into Reading, Writing and Math. Facilitate proctoring and administration of all standardized exams including Accuplacer, HiSET, GED, CLEP, TEAS, PearsonVue and other testing programs set forth by Massasoit Community College, the State of Massachusetts and/or the testing vendor. Interpret test scores and provide course information to students based on test scores. Work closely with the Coordinator of Testing and Assessment to comply with all policies, procedures and guidelines established by Massasoit Community College, the State of Massachusetts and the testing vendor. Maintain the overall integrity, security and quality of the testing program as required by the college, state and test vendor.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review and evaluate high school GPA's, high school transcripts and other documentation that provides proof of high school attendance.
  • Review and evaluate ACT, MCAS, PSAT, SAT scores.
  • Facilitate, proctor, administer, interpret test scores and provide information to students based on test scores.
  • Refer students to appropriate services, departments and/or agencies.
  • Work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and processes established for Accuplacer, HiSET, GED, PearsonVue, TEAS, CLEP and other testing programs.
  • Adhere to testing guidelines set forth by the State of Massachusetts.
  • Maintain the overall quality of the testing program by complying with certifications, attending/participating in training sessions/professional development as required by the college, state and testing companies.
  • Verifying the identity and eligibility of each testing candidate.
  • Inform the Chief Examiner and/or State Administrator of all disruptions or suspicious events that take place during any testing session promptly and in writing by filing a Center Problem Report.
  • Confer with Chief Examiner to conduct investigations into test compromises and testing irregularities.
  • Administrative functions such as entering data in computer system; maintaining testing logs, seating charts, printing rosters and other administrative responsibilities as required.
  • Maintaining the security of all testing materials.
  • Provide information about GED and HiSET test to civic groups, adult educators and high school counselors.
  • Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or closely related field; with one (1) year experience and/or training involving computerized test administration, computer program manipulation, or computer operations in an academic environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience with Banner
  • Experience working with diverse faculty, staff and student, body
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work Saturdays and one evening per week
  • Travel to other sites for testing required
  • Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver's license

COVID VACCINATION REQUIREMENT: Candidates for employment should be aware that all Community College students, faculty, and staff are required to be fully vaccinated. Position Status:

This is an Early College Access funded position and is contingent upon availability of funds.

Hours: up to 15 hours per week, some weekend and evening hours required. Not to exceed 936 hours annually. This position may be eligible for telework in accordance with the College's telework policy.

Salary: $30.03 per hour.

Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites and various testing locations.
