Position Summary |
Provide box office services for PAC activities. Provide secretarial services for PAC daily operations. Provide general accounting for PAC activities; maintain income, attendance, and expenses.

Description of Duties |
Box Office
- Responsible for all PAC ticketed events.
- Program register for PAC ticket sales.
- Open and close register for daily sales.
- Train and schedule box office and house staff.
- Maintain cash level for registers
- Ensure security of box office, money, and tickets.
- Prepare seating chart for all reserved seat performances.
- Assign tickets for reservations.
- Respond to telephone, internet, and written inquiries from customers.
- Resolve customer complaints and problems regarding ticket sales and seating.
- Update telephone recording to reflect current tickets and event information.
- Make sure daily ticket sales and money are brought into balance.
- Prepare daily deposits-including cash, check, and charges.
- Type and process blanket purchase orders, purchase orders, invoice vouchers, facility requests, etc.
Departmental Support
- Assist with developing materials in support of PAC season.
- Write and prepare and approve copy for season brochures, programs, posters, postcards, and press releases.
- Prepare tickets to include performance, date, place, time, and prices.
- Maintain active date base for PAC mailings.
- Maintain and update the master PAC calendar.
- Track office supplies and general supply needs for the PAC.
Reports
- Assist with the following reports:
- Per Performance revenue/audience reports
- Per production revenue/audience reports
- Annual revenue/audience reports
- Provide supervisor with necessary ticket sales and reports for each event.

Minimum Qualifications |
Education:
- Associate degree required preferably in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Experience:
- Two years experience in the box office related function.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of simple bookkeeping and accounting procedures; must have temperament, tact, and courtesy to meet the public and deal with difficult public relations situations.
- Strong communications, interpersonal skills and organizational abilities.
- Ability to develop work schedules several months in advance.
- Ability to make quick judgments and adjustments to meet emergency situations.
- Interest in the theater by experience gained from participation in theater or other extracurricular activities.
- Typing skills, basic bookkeeping, filing skills, cash register ability, ability to work with money, ability to use a phone, cash register, and credit card machine.
- Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.
- Must be computer literate with ability to utilize Microsoft Office at an intermediate level and the ability to learn and utilize specific higher education programs and systems.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations |
Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
Working conditions are generally favorable. This position is expected to work evening hours as the production schedule dictates.
