Instructor/Assistant Professor & Assistant ACCE - Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Description
Summary: Full-time, term, benefits eligible 10-month faculty position providing instruction, advising and curriculum development, beginning in the Fall 2023 academic year. Salary range: $40,000-44,900/year.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) required and a Bachelors degree or higher in health care related field or a Bachelors degree or higher in Physical Therapy preferred. Minimum of three years of full time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy. Two years of clinical practice experience must include experience as a CCCE or CI in physical therapy, or a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program. Contemporary expertise in assigned teaching areas and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and student evaluation. In addition, core faculty who are PTs/PTAs and who are teaching clinical PT content hold an active, unrestricted PT license.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for teaching in areas of demonstrated excellence and contemporary experience They are also responsible for participating in the planning, coordination, facilitation, administration, monitoring, and assessment of the program curriculum Development and assessment of the curriculum, in cooperation with the ACCE/Program Director Assessment of student performance Student advisement Classroom and laboratory instruction as scheduled by the ACCE/Program Director Service on the PTA Advisory Board. Teach a fifteen credit-hour or equivalent load with day, evening and/or off-campus courses as needed. It is anticipated that a faculty member will prepare an average of three hours for every hour of instruction. Course overloads may be approved by the Dean. Maintain office hours. Assume a positive and active role as a representative of the College by participating in and/or attending each of the following events when possible: Student recruitment efforts at high schools and college fairs as well as business, industry and agencies related to the program/major, Professional organizations, Professional development activities, College-wide meetings, General faculty meetings, Advisory committee meetings. Assist in developing, monitoring, and refining the clinical education component of the curriculum.
Assist in provision of documented records and assessment of the clinical education component of the program (includes clinical education sites, clinical educators, etc.)
Assist in clinical faculty development opportunities. Other duties as assigned.
