Job Summary: Provides support for the development and implementation of a comprehensive professional development program which provides faculty and staff with the skills necessary to perform their duties effectively, improves organizational effectiveness and productivity, and creates an environment that promotes professional growth in alignment with HACC’s strategic plan 2023-2025.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in professional development or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.

Job Specific Task List:

Essential

  • Responsible for all the logistical information of organization development (OD). Such as setting dates for employee/faculty orientation, scheduling training dates for individuals, departments, and divisions, booking locations for onsite training and Zoom sessions, placing orders for training and office resources and communicating the information to the OD coordinator. Organize and monitor work processes and manage the workflow of OD. Manage and monitor the department’s semester and annual schedule and work with other divisions.
  • The coordinator will produce monthly/quarterly reports on all the training and development services offered by the OD department, including facilitator evaluations and analysis. By gathering information, compiles data, calculates the numbers of participants, and prepares department reports, including carrying out special projects for the department. Oversee the processing of credit and non credit educational assistance, Non-HACC education assistance, external training and travel request and the professional development fund. Ensure Accounts Payable or Student Accounts receive employee applications within 48 hours of receipt. -
  • Provide administrative support to the director, organization development in the development and implementation of tasks and workgroups assigned to the institute, for example, employee engagement, effective communications workgroup, customer service or any other functional unit or College request identified relating to professional development.
  • Design, develop, and implement learning and instructional strategies to improve the performance of faculty and staff; lead needs assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of training and development programs; consult with employees to gain knowledge of and prioritize learning and development needs within the college community; work with employees to provide developmental opportunities and customized professional development plans.
  • Provide coaching and consulting to support employees so they may operate more effectively in their departments; serves as a resource for employees in developing career progression and individual development plans.
  • Facilitate training programs, as well as partner with internal and external presenters to support the learning and development needs of the college community; ensure all required compliance training occurs within required time frames; coordinate logistical information of professional development events, such as the new employee/faculty orientation program, by scheduling dates, booking locations, and placing orders.
  • Continually investigate and implement innovative and creative training solutions, materials, methods, and programs to meet the development needs of the College Community in all locations; adopt a variety of existing and emerging technologies that will provide training that is interactive, synchronous, asynchronous, on-site, over the network, and on-demand.
  • Manage and keep the Learning Management System up to date and functional. Find creative ways to increase employee participation in the LMS.
