Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the accounting, budgeting and financial analysis of all grants awarded to the College. This position requires confidence and knowledge to accurately depict and report grant financials.
The Grant Accountant is charged with the responsibility for college grant budgets, reporting and financial management.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or business required.
  • Minimum of 3 years current work experience in accounting, auditing and/ or finance required.
  • Experience with grants accounting preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to manage and analyze accounting functions, develop, improve processes and work staff and

Project Directors


Work Performed:

  • Train new Project Directors on grant financial reporting and management, in accordance with

college and funder policies and procedures.

  • Advise, review and/ or approve expenditures, monitor compliance with grant agreements and

coordinate grants budgeting with Project Directors/budget managers, both pre and post award.

  • Prepare and upload budgets, financial reports and drawdown detail into the Grant Navigator

module and keep up to date.

  • Serve as secretary for the Grant Monitoring Committee. This includes scheduling monthly grant

monitoring meetings with Project Directors, attending meetings and taking notes.

  • Communicate with Federal and State agencies when financial issues arise with grants.
  • Develop and update institutional forms, policies and procedures related to grant financials to

ensure compliance with institutional, State and Federal regulations.

  • Assume the role of Authorized Financial Representative (AFR) on federal grant websites.
  • Oversee accounting, budget compliance, and financial reporting requirements for all college grant

activity quarterly, or as necessary, monitor and review compliance of grant finances and
performance activity with appropriate college personnel.

  • In conjunction with the Director, Grant Development & Compliance, develop and maintain grants

management written policies, procedures, and regulatory updates.

  • Become familiar with the Employment and Training Administration's SMART 3.0 series on grant

management.

  • Document and determine indirect match and leverage.
  • Become familiar with 260E/F funding.
  • Along with the Controller, maintain responsibility for preparation, understanding, and

communication of the Federal Indirect Cost Rate.

  • Maintain responsibility for audit and monitoring requests and all financial documentation

requirements.

  • Collect grant-related financial documents from Project Directors during the grant closeout process

and store in accordance with College and funding agency retention guidelines.

  • Provide information as needed to auditors and funding agencies during institutional review

processes.

  • Work with Director, Grant Development & Compliance to assist in educating the campus community

about the College's grant financial process and reporting requirements.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Professional - Exempt - Traditional Funding, at will employment on a letter of employment

4 Term, Full Time, Benefits


Schedule:
9 hrs/day, Monday-Thursday

Salary Range:
$44,603.00 - 49,408.00
