POSITION:                                          Full-time Machining Instructor (Jasper County Center)
 
SCHOOL:                                           Agriculture and Industrial Services
 
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:                Nine (9) months
 
COMPENSATION:                             Salary commensurate with education and experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Full-time teaching of precision manufacturing and machining lectures and lab classes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Planning and organizing machining classes, instruction, and advising students as assigned.
  2. Submitting budget requests and purchase requests for supplies and equipment as needed.
  3. Assisting in implementing college policies, objectives, and functions.
  4. Serving on divisional, campus and institutional committees and councils.
  5. Maintaining appropriate office hours.
  6. Attending workshops and meetings that contribute to professional development.
  7. Teach theory-based content online through live or recorded classes.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in Machining Technology or related field
  • 2 years machining experience within the last 5 years
PREFEREED QUALIFICATIONS:         
  • Have a bachelors degree or higher in related field of study.
  • 5 years machining experience
  • 2 years of classroom teaching experience
  • National Institute for Metal Working Skills (NIMS) Level 1 certification
