Full Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the Southern Maine Community College invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment in computer science beginning August 2023. Faculty are responsible for developing, modifying, and assessing curricula; continuously improving teaching methodology and student-centered learning; staying current in the field; advising and maintaining scheduled availability to students; participating with other faculty in developing and managing courses, curricula and academic policy; participating in department and college activities, including committee work and college service and other professional duties related to the position that contribute to the success of the college.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master's degree in Computer Science
· 2 years relevant work experience or experience teaching
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Doctorate in Computer Science
· College teaching experience, including online
· Experience with assessment
· Familiarity with the ACM/IEEE Computer Science Curriculum
· Experience teaching on-line in Brightspace
PROJECTED START DATE: August 2023
STARTING SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with educational level and teaching experience
