Position Title:

Business Analyst and System Support

Salary Range:

$55,000 - $60,000

Reporting Relationship:

Director of Enterprise Applications

Position Summary:

Responsible for analyzing technology operations and processes with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency while supporting core functions and achieving business goals. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, implementing and documenting solutions, supporting small to mid-sized technology projects, documenting systems requirements, and communicating with stakeholders across the institution.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in information or business systems or a related IT field or an Associate degree with two years of professional experience in essential duties and responsibilities. Demonstrated coursework, certification, or proven experience leading technical projects and cross-functional teams required. Experience working with technology in an educational environment strongly preferred. Experience with Ellucian Colleague SIS preferred, office applications, reporting systems. Must possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to be highly effective in cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills and customer focus required. While this position typically works normal business hours, early mornings, nights or weekends may be required for resolution of issues or to perform system implementations and upgrades.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:


Business Analysis (Analytical/Problem Solving/Critical Thinking)

  • Elicits and documents system requirements for technology projects, verifying the documented items with project stakeholders
  • Determines the impact new systems or system changes will have on related or integrated systems and ensure that this is addressed
  • Participates in or coordinates business process design with a focus on optimizing organizational performance
  • Establishes and maintains systems documentation for hardware, software and procedures, as required
  • Proposes and implements new procedures to improve efficiency and quality
  • Documents and communicates new procedures and processes as they relate to technology projects
  • Conducts employee training related to system changes and enhancements as well as new policies and procedures


System Support

  • Works with Project manager/teams to plan, organize, and monitor technology projects that integrate with Colleague/SIS systems.
  • Provides communication to Colleague/SIS team members for all assigned tasks and relates information back to Project team and or college leaders regarding project schedules and budgets
  • Works with Colleague/SIS users to assist with system issues, business process needs and or user training on newly delivered functionalities/systems.
  • Works with ERP team to communicate solutions, align resources and document the solution in the Service Desk knowledge base for reference.
  • Works with Service Desk Knowledge base to create, update and maintain knowledge base articles for ERP Team(private) and users (public).
  • Engages on Ellucian Hub/Elluminate to stay updated on reported issues, creative solutions and upcoming features. Keeps ERP Team updated on related items.

General

  • Maintains expertise in project management, business process design, user training, and related fields through ongoing professional development
  • Works closely with other IT team members to ensure coordination of tasks and activities and to make recommendations for changes.
  • Provides backup support to other IT functions, including troubleshooting of escalated tickets and resolution of identified problems
  • Cultivates relationships with internal and external customers and provides quality service that meets or exceeds expectations 
  • Is available for on call and off hour projects and tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Enterprise Applications.
