Adjunct Faculty - Humanities and Social Science
Humanities and Social Science includes but is not limited to: Arts, Education, English, Economics, History, Psychology, Philosophy, Spanish, Speech/Drama and Sociology.
Adjunct faculty teach a variety of day, evening and weekend classes. Responsibilities include teaching college level courses, which may include distance learning on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree, have eighteen graduate semester hours in the discipline/prefix specific to the class, and a history of successful teaching or related experience. Certain developmental or technical courses may be taught by instructors with a Bachelor’s degree, a special certification, and/or work experience. This is a continuous posting and applicants will be contacted on an as needed basis.

Compensation and Benefits:
Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty: The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant or teaching experience. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies. Laurel Ridge Community College is a comprehensive, nonresidential, two-year public institution of higher education with four locations – the Fauquier and Middletown campuses, the Luray-Page County Center and the Vint Hill Site – as well as outreach sites throughout the college’s service region. - Teaching experience at post-secondary level preferred.
- History of teaching or related experience.
- The ability to use instructional technology.
