Position Summary
This position provides clerical assistance to the students, faculty and Dean of the Arts and Humanities Division. This position assists with the effectiveness and efficiency of the division operations, which includes providing positive customer service to students, faculty, and visitors to the division.
This position serves as the initial point of contact for faculty, staff, students and the public seeking assistance from the Arts and Humanities Division office, the division faculty or the Dean. Person must carefully, courteously and professionally listen to visitors to define needs and then determine appropriate course of action that may include answering the questions him/herself, referring it to another office or to the Administrative Assistant for additional follow-up and/or help.

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of clerical experience in an office environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Associates Degree.
- Related experience working in a higher education setting.
- Experience with student management and operations software, such as Datatel, Cognos and Lotus Notes.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- With or without accommodation, employee in this position needs to move about inside the office and about campus less than one-third of the time.
- It is necessary to be able to remain stationary over two-thirds of the time.
- Requires the ability to communicate frequently with people in person, by email and phone.
- Occasionally must move supplies and equipment, weighing up to 40 pounds, short distances.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as photocopiers and document shredders.
Work Schedule
Full-time, regular position, 40 hours per week/52 weeks per year flexible schedule. The Arts and Humanities office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year. Will be required to work a variable schedule/varying hours to meet operational needs.
