The SLCC Rec Desk Attendant is accountable to enforce the Standard Operating Procedures outlined in the manual.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
-Enforces Campus Recreation rules, safety standards, and sanitation requirements are followed.
-Clean and maintain all exercise equipment on a daily basis.
-Excellent communication skills, customer service and able to deal with the general public, faculty/staff & students.
-Must have a knowledge of membership sales and retention strategies.
-Good telephone manner and ability to record and process messages.
-Be able to handle simple cash transactions while balancing a cash register.
-Keeping track of equipment that is rented

-Aid patrons in daily operation of equipment and answers questions concerning operation of equipment.
-Set-up courts for sports activities (i.e., volleyball, badminton, etc.).
-Assist in the reservation of court space.
-Ensure that all patrons have an active One Card or Recreation pass.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current SLCC student
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Eighteen years of age or older.
- Commitment to continuous personal development, attend training as required.
Preferred Qualifications
-Currently enrolled as a SLCC student
-One to two years fitness or recreation background (preferred).
-CPR and First-Aid Certified (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-Communication skills (oral and written).
-Customer service oriented.
-Problem solving.
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
-Complete college mandatory staff training.
-Complete first-aid and CPR training.
-Work flexible schedule (early mornings, nights, weekends).
-Report to work on time.
-Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
-Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
