Technician, Parking Services

Job Description

We are looking for a Technician to work in our Parking Services and Facilities area.  Come be a part of the evolving Mosaic that is HCC.

Job Summary

Provides a wide variety of specific parking customer services pertaining to various events, specific location and individual circumstances.  Responsible for the daily operational tasks of assigned parking facilities to ensure smooth operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collaborate with third party vendor to maintain multiple parking databases for client accounts.

Collect necessary information from clients for data entry to issue / assign credentials for electronic garage access.

Field inquiries and concerns from customers via e-correspondence and phone call.

Monitor parking activity and produce monthly reports as needed.

Assist management with preparation of monthly allotment counts for billing purposes.

Coordinate all installation, repair and service of parking equipment and software.

Review all signage for compliance purposes and ensure integrity of parking space striping.

Troubleshoot all mechanical and technical matters related to equipment tuning and functionality.

Provide clients with courteous and timely assistance.  Set-up of parking facilities for daily operations and special events.

Monitor flow of traffic during rush hour(s) assisting parkers to avoid gate arm damage and accidents.

Work with HCC Police to identify issues related to unsafe conditions or activities within parking facilities.

Perform daily maintenance on equipment in accordance with tools and training provided.

Perform routine visual inspection of assigned facilities for noticeable changes to structure and report to proper authority.

Monitor surface parking lot(s) for unauthorized parking / activity alerting management and HCCPD of violations as necessary.

Ensure the neat appearance of all exterior and interior parking facility spaces and perimeters.

Patrol garage for available parking and monitor two-hour parking.

Perform routine inspections and minor tasks associated with the proper operation of a campus as required, including but not limited to, custodial service, pest control, maintenance, landscaping, and/or life safety as required in parking structures and as consistent with tools and training provided.

Report problems and safety hazards to management in a timely manner.

May travel to other locations as needed.

Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Read, write and speak English and simple arithmetic calculations required
  • 2 years experience with daily operations of parking structures, equipment, logistics, signage and routine maintenance preferred        

Licensing & Certification

  • Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions

General office.  May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.  Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator.  Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to reach and bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes.  Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.  May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
