Hiram College invites applicants to apply for the position of Coordinator of Career Development.

The Coordinator of Career Development will support all activities of the center, especially those including internship development and employer relationships. The coordinator will work to build internship and employment opportunities for as many students as possible. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with day-to-day operations and services of the Career Center including the following: holding career advising appointments, establishing Hiram Connect internship and collect Hiram Connect paperwork, collect, and approve applications for internship funding, teach STDV courses.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position Purpose

Develop and maintain relationships with employers by:

· Engaging employers and students in on-campus recruiting processes including collaborative career fairs, informational sessions, on-campus interviews, tours, career panels, etc.

· Marketing employer site visits to students

· Identifying new employers who have an interest in hiring Hiram College students for internships and/or full-time employment

· Coordinating with employers to post their internships on Handshake

The Coordinator of Career Development will play an important role in the implementation of Hiram Connect in the following ways: maintain the internship log and track students participation in and completion of Hiram Connect, including the learning agreement, reflection essays, and evaluations. The coordinator will also work with students 1:1 to identify internship opportunities that align with their professional goals.

The Coordinator of Career Development will also play an important role in the internship funding process by assisting students through the application process. The coordinator will work with the student and employer to gather the application materials, and then ensure internship funding requirements are met, including the online training workshops and modules.

As part of the coordinators responsibilities, the incumbent will work with all students at Hiram College and alums, which includes Traditional College students, partnership program (Tri-C, Lorain County Community College, Lakeland Community College), Weekend College, and On-line.

Project Responsibilities

· Work with School Directors to plan annual alumni / student networking and engagement events

· Work closely with Alumni Relations when an alumnus is interested in providing jobs, internships, networking opportunities, etc.

· Teach or co-teach at least one Student Development course per semester

Administrative Responsibilities

· Create and update career-related resources for students

· Create publicity for Career Development programming

· Collect materials for and track internship funding applications and Hiram Connect

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, Education

· Ability to develop relationships and network with others

· Knowledge of common career development theories and approaches

· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

· Strong computer skills, and an understanding of Handshake preferred

· Proven event planning and management skills, and ability to market events through multiple platforms

· Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA

· 1+ years of experience in student services, career development, recruiting, advising, or related field

· Masters degree in higher education or related field required
