EXPECTATIONS OF THE POSITION:
The Workforce Coordinator is responsible for the effective promotion and operation of workforce training and continuing education opportunities throughout Westerns service area. The Workforce Coordinator works to meet the ever-changing demands for training in Westerns service area and with the Colleges industry and healthcare partners; therefore, he/she must possess strong organizational skills, marketing, and communication skills to speak effectively to groups and to write clearly and succinctly. The Workforce Coordinator manages the Carl D. Perkins Grant.

It is expected that this individual will accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective, competent manner and strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, this individual must understand the comprehensive role of the community college, and cooperate and work harmoniously with college personnel and Westerns partners. This individual will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position. Travel throughout Westerns service area is required.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH THIS PERSON IS ACCOUNTABLE:
1. Oversees Workforce Development staff.

2. Organizes, promotes, schedules, and evaluates new programs, courses, and training sessions for college credit or non-credit continuing education that meet the needs of the Workforce in Westerns service area.

3. Supervises, schedules, and evaluates the Workforce part-time and adjunct faculty.

4. Evaluates individual course fiscal planning and drafts memorandums of understanding for workforce partners.

5. Recruits adjunct faculty to teach specific credit and/or non-credit courses and/or conduct workforce training/continuing education activities. Makes recommendations for rehiring adjunct faculty based on feedback and evaluations.

6. Oversees maintenance of the department website and other marketing efforts related to Workforce Development.

7. Assists in preparing projects for outside grant proposals related to workforce training, professional development and other areas.

8. Oversees industry testing commitments and operations.

9. Develops effective working relationships with employers and maintain regular contact in order to monitor program satisfaction.

10. Works closely with industry to coordinate and provide on-site and on-campus credit and non-credit continuing education and professional development courses, workshops, training, executive retreats, meetings, conferences and other workforce training and development projects.

11. Works with the Dean of Outreach and Workforce Development to maintain affiliations with appropriate state, county, and local workforce development agencies.

12. Works with the Director Dean of Outreach and Workforce Development to seek, write, and maintain grants for Workforce and Career and Technical Education.

13. Manages the Carl D. Perkins Grant, including overseeing and managing the Perkins budget, inventory, projects, the grant application, faculty development, and relevant reports.

14. Coordinate relationships with service area high school CTE programs and attends CTE Advisory Council meetings, as required by the Perkins Grant.

15. Maintains a working knowledge of state, country, and local economic development initiatives.

16. Represents the College in a positive, professional and articulate manner at all times.

17. Operates within the professional confines of established Western policies and procedures.

18. Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Abilities, Education and Experience)

1. Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

2. Ability to work independently, to organize tasks effectively, and to set priorities.

3. Experience writing and managing grants.

4. Strong presentational, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills.

5. Ability to communicate clearly, tactfully, and courteously with others. Ability to work with various personalities.

6. Ability to obtain and maintain a Wyoming class “C” drivers license. Obtain and maintain coverage as a driver under the Colleges automobile insurance carrier.

Equivalency Statement
For those candidates who do not meet all the minimum qualifications, an equivalent combination of education and experience, which has provided comparable knowledge and abilities, will be acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Abilities, Education and Experience)

1. Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
2. Experience in academic advising, recruiting or other student services related position.
3. Knowledge of state and federal laws related to dual and concurrent enrollment.
