Job Summary

The EEO/Title IX Intake Manager will manage the office’s complaint intake function by providing intake services and initial responses to reports of discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation in accordance with established criteria.
The primary responsibility of this position is to triage reports of alleged discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation, and provide information and education about supportive measures, the EEO and Title IX reporting and investigation process, and rights and responsibilities under the college’s policies, and perform preliminary fact-finding interviews.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • The manager will acknowledge complaints, provide the initial response to complainants, and schedule and perform intake interviews. The manager will interpret and/or advise complainants of college policy and provide referrals and resources to individuals affected by sexual misconduct and other forms of discrimination, such as Title IX interim safety and welfare measures as needed for sexual violence and harassment complaints under college policy and Title IX.
  • The manager will conduct preliminary fact-finding as required to assess the allegations under applicable college policies and procedures.
  • The manager will work closely with the Director to coordinate the disposition and transfer of cases to investigators to adequately resource complaints.
  • The manager will provide ongoing communication for parties regarding case status and respond to questions and concerns about investigations.
  • The manager will also perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree at the time of hire and
2. Three (3) or more years of direct full-time work experience

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s Degree in social work, student affairs, higher education, psychology, human resources, counseling or related field, or Paralegal degree or JD.

2. Training completion or certifications in Title IX or EEO.

3. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

4. Experience working in higher education.

5. Experience that includes interviewing complainants or investigating workplace conflict, preferably using trauma informed techniques, or crisis counseling experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of state and federal laws related to discrimination, harassment, hate/bias and sexual violence.
Interest in nondiscrimination compliance and related issues.
Demonstrated skill in professional judgment, tact, and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters and/or people in distress.
Experience working in an environment of strict confidentiality with sensitive information, materials, and/or client interactions.
Experience working successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives in an inclusive and respectful manner.
Effective verbal and written communication, presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to organize information, establish priorities, and implement best practices.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications, document sharing tools, and case management systems.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
