The Student Life Coordinator is responsible to the Student Life Manager. This positions primary responsibility is to coordinate departmental initiatives, such as civic engagement and leadership development efforts. This position also advises the campus programming board, assists with planning, marketing, and evaluating departmental events. In addition, this position provides support to registered student organizations leaders and advisors, and supervises department student employees (including graduate assistants) that help with marketing efforts, passive programming (e.g. bulletin board messaging) and staffing departmental events. This role assists in monitoring the finances and in the development of budgets. The Student Life Coordinator assists in the administrative duties of the department.

Responsibilities
Coordinate departmental events along with advising and guiding the campus programming board, including group dynamics, establishing goals, training and budgeting.
Provide support for registered student organizations including advisor training, student leader training, processes, group dynamics and budgeting.
Coordinate civic engagement initiatives for department, which include days of service, awareness events, an alternate spring break program, and monitoring service hours of registered student organizations.
Assist with organizing and implementing leadership efforts and recognition programs for the department.
Coordinate the Engaging Leaders Program (2x per year) consisting of annually updating content, recruiting and training facilitators, marketing, executing and evaluating the 9 week program as well as running various sessions.
Assists with data collection and evaluation of departmental initiatives, events, and programs.
Markets departmental initiatives and events, which includes maintaining social media channels, website, and publications.
Assist the Student Life Manager in administrative duties of department.
Participate in training to enhance the position as assigned.
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate student employees and the graduate assistant.
Responsible to serve as liaison between talent agencies and the college in contract negotiations for performances on campus.
Represent the department of Student Life at various college and community events and/or groups.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education, Communication, or related field required. Masters degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling or related field preferred.


Two years experience in Student Life, Student Services, event planning or related area required.
Experience advising student organizations, campus activities boards or student senate helpful but not required.
Experience in coordination of civic engagement or leadership activities.
Able to work flexible schedule.
Some nights and weekends required Proven ability to function effectively with a wide variety of people in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge of Student Development theory preferred.
Excellent human relations and communication skills. Marketing experience including social media, website, graphic design or related areas preferred.
