5. Competence with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word, and email and web conferencing platforms
6. Personal integrity, honesty, dependability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality

Essential Functions
The essential functions of the Student Assistant, Student Wellness & Basic Needs are Communicating with students about available resources to support students’ basic needs, and Tracking the distribution of resources.
Job Duties
1. Assist with weekly student support distribution activities, during which Durham Tech provides students with access to essential items, including computers, food, hygiene products, and healthcare resources.
2. Track the distribution of computers and healthcare resources.
3. Call students who apply for computer and/or internet assistance to connect them with college and community supports.
4. Conduct outreach to recruit student parents to the Student Parent Success Network and to raise awareness about available resources to support students’ basic needs.
5. Conduct interviews to gather feedback from student parents about ways to improve campus supports for parenting students.
6. Assist staff with preparing materials for student parent meetups.
7. Participate in student parent meetups to provide peer support to parenting students.
8. Collect and manage data about student parent participation in network activities.
9. Assist with promotions, outreach, and logistics for special opportunities for students (e.g. Virtual benefit screenings for Food Stamps, virtual eviction prevention workshops, student health fair).

Required Working Hours
A minimum of a 15- 20 hour work week as determined with the supervisor to allow the employee to fulfill the assigned duties and responsibilities, including occasional evening and weekend hours.Hiring Range
