Job Description

Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for part-time Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver Trainers. These positions will work up to 28 hours per week.

Responsibilities: Train Commercial Motor Vehicle drivers in accordance with state, federal and college rules and guidelines. Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs, making continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods. Courses would include, but not be limited to Class-A and Class B CDL Entry Level Driver Training.

Qualifications:

Required:

Valid Nebraska State Class A CDL license: license must be held for a minimum of the 2 consecutive preceding years in the state of Nebraska.

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Class A licensed commercial motor vehicle driver.

Have no violation on his/her driving record for which five or more points might be assessed as set out in Neb. Rev. Stat 60-4, 182 for the prior five years. This includes probation or other situations in which no points were actually assessed for the violation. Additionally, instructor must have no suspensions or revocations on his/her driving record within the last 5 years, including no convictions for DWI or any related alcohol or drug offense in connection with motor vehicle use.

Must be at least 21 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred:

Previous classroom training experience and experience training Class-A CDL drivers preferred.
Salary: $25 per hour.

Start Date: Immediate.
