Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (Hybrid Schedule)

POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Financial Aid Program Support

Process external and internal aid resources for students within the student management system and confirm eligibility of aid prior to posting (i.e. ETV,ODHE grants, stipends, and outside scholarships). Participates in the work group responsible for bringing up new aid award year within the system with a specific focus on updating aid forms, communications, and other related
tasks associated with this annual process. Follow up on document requests from outside entities, such as loan servicers, representatives from other colleges, etc. Assists with special on-campus financial aid activities. Participates in professional development activities, such as training and online webinar events associated with financial aid. Assists in conducting
financial aid workshops and presentations on and off campus for traditional and non-traditional students and parents.

Building Partnerships

Serves as a liaison to CSCC community and external contacts and responds to inquiries pertaining to financial aid and any required information on behalf of students. Answers basic inquiries from students and parents regarding financial aid Participates in CSCC committees.

Clerical

Process dependent fee waivers, provided by the Human Resources Department, with the student management system. Ensures compliance of federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of student records and other confidential information.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity while meeting federal as well as internal regulations and procedures, with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners. Assist with other Enrollment and Student Service areas as needed/assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee will regularly sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Employee converses verbally with others in person, by telephone, and utilizing virtual tools such as Microsoft Teams. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. The employee occasionally lifts or exerts force of up to 10 pounds when moving boxes, literature, and other materials.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: financial aid regulations (federal and state); FERPA; related software, programs, and applications to perform required job duties. Ability to: work independently demonstrating initiative; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, job contacts and general public; originate correspondence; maintain confidential and sensitive information; maintain accurate and complete work records; work effectively with persons of varying cultures and diversity. Skill in: verbal and written communications; operating general office equipment; maintaining good public relations; customer service; general typing; application of job software programs; and coordinating program functions; attention to detail; maintaining documentation and records; general and standard office practices and procedures; interpreting federal and state regulations and internal policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Education Administration, Business Management, or closely related field, or at least
five consecutive years of experience working in financial aid. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
