    We are currently seeking a Senior Lab Assistant, Telecommunications / Instructional Computing, who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
     
    The Opportunity

    You: You love working with others and helping them learn new skills.
     
    Your mission: We’ll count on you to oversee and maintain the day-to-day operations of a multi-function student computer lab / open lab, and assist students and instructors who are using the lab computers.
     
    Your work: In this role, you’ll monitor the programs, exams, computers, materials and audio/visual aids in the lab, maintaining security and inventories of all computers and supplies. You’ll report current and potential hardware / software problems, and provide feedback on new software and hardware used in the lab. As a people person, you’ll enjoy assisting students and instructors with various computer programs, and helping students during class registration. You’ll also assist your supervisor with collecting data for studies, surveys, and reports; with developing lab schedules; and with lab orientations.

    EDUCATION
    High school degree or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.

    EXPERIENCE
    Three (3) years experience in a Learning Center environment required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    Proficiency in Windows 95, Microsoft Office 98

    Demonstrated competencies in personal computer hardware/software installation and troubleshooting

    Ability to maintain computer hardware and software

    Ability to effectively communicate with and work well with faculty and administrators

    Knowledge of computer and data communications equipment
  • Hands-on experience working in workforce labs.

    Applicant must be able to lift heavy equipment.

    Ability to assemble and de assemble equipment.

    Ability to move equipment around to other location.
