Job Description

Minneapolis College, a vibrant and inclusive two-year community college in Minnesota, is accepting applications for a permanent, full-time Instructor of Mathematics.
 
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Teaching a full-time load (30 credits per year) in mathematics. Instruction may involve both on-campus and online modalities. The schedule may include daytime, evenings, or Saturdays.
  • Providing quality instruction and services to a very diverse student population.
  • Teaching a wide range of courses, including statistics, math for liberal arts, college algebra, precalculus and calculus.
  • Maintaining collegial and cooperative work relationships with colleagues in the department, and all college personnel.
  • Participating in development, implementation, and instruction of curriculum for the associate degrees in mathematics.
  • Participating in course, department, and institutional assessment projects
  • Participating in departmental and school meetings.
  • Actively engaging in the college community through committee work and inter-departmental collaboration.
Required Qualifications
Education Requirement
  • Masters degree with a major in mathematics or a Masters degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in mathematics.

 


Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement (to be completed within first three years of employment)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to teach statistics and math for liberal arts.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in online and blended delivery modes.
  • Experience or interest in teaching at the Colleges affiliated correctional facilities.
  • Evidence of a strong and clear understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, staff, administrators and communities that they serve.

  • Must be in good standing with Minneapolis College.

Benefits Info
Salary: Full time faculty salaries currently range from $40,912 – $85,892 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2021-2023 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
