Florida SouthWestern State College is accepting resumes in search of a Professor, Computer Science in the School of Business and Technology to join our team of exceptional faculty. The School of Business and Technology houses some of the most diverse Workforce Education and academic program offerings at the college, including College Credit Certificate (CCC) programs, Associate in Science (AS) degree programs, and Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree programs. Disciplines include Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Criminal Justice, Crime Scene, Paralegal, and Public Safety Administration.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Doctoral or master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in Computer Science or closely related teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline)
  • Practical knowledge of how operating systems are built and managed
  • A firm understanding of the essentials of computer networking & cloud computing
  • Able to develop and evaluate network architecture
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++
  • Firm knowledge of basic antivirus principles, VPNs, and firewalls
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to adapt successfully to an e-learning environment. Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format and to work online with students daily.
  • Ability to develop innovative curriculum and student support strategies to drive student success
  • Industry and academic leader in the discipline {Cyber Security, Data Science, Software, Cloud & IT Management}
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology in creating and delivering course content
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the subject area to be taught

Salary Range: $48,769 - $57,964 (for two terms): the maximum salary is based on a doctorate education level and 10 years of verifiable full-time teaching experience. Salary will be determined at the hire date.
