The Arbor Day Foundation is seeking a Grants Administrator to support the Foundations award making activities by providing expert management of the grants and contracts from project award to project closure while ensuring funds are granted in accordance with Foundation policies and federal regulations. The Grants Administrator sits on our Ventures team and will work with grantee organizations and grant applications and contracts in the areas of new programs and services or support of ongoing programs and services.

 

You Have:

  • Passion. For the Foundations mission, nature, environmental stewardship, and people.
  • The Experience. 3+ years of pre-award/post-award grant administration or related experience.
  • The Knowledge. Administration knowledge including government, corporate, private, and individual sources.
  • The Skills. Exceptional attention to detail, demonstrates initiative and highly collaborative.
  • The Ability to exercise independent judgement to plan and prioritize diverse workload and manage and track multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to learn and use Grant manager system (Submittable).

 

You Will:

  • Manage funding requests through the grant lifecycle from application to execution of grant contracts and ensure internal and external contract obligations are met.
  • Review grant proposals. Set principles, build a detailed review rubric, create scoring definitions, facilitate internal and external meetings, build timelines for internal and external review, formulate review team, oversee final judging, confirm selected projects, and reporting process.
  • Communicate during the life cycle of grant. Craft language for outreach, including the actual grant application, external communication for sourcing deadlines, notifying successful and unsuccessful applicants, and share reporting (both internal and external partner specific grant reporting websites)
  • Utilize Submittable, our Grants Management System. Use this system to conduct portfolio workflow tasks such as crafting grant agreements, reviewing budgets and reports.
  • Be innovative and scale. Provide input where you think a grant process or standard project sourcing process should be implemented. Present opportunities where a grant process may help our Programs or Ventures grow.
