The Reading, Writing & English Program within the Academic Foundations, Essentials and Gateways (YESS) Pathway, is looking for an Instructional Administrative Assistant II (IAA II) to join our team.

The Pathway welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and abilities to study and develop their skills in preparation for a variety of careers and/or transfer to four-year institutions. The IAA 2 works with faculty, administrative staff, casual staff, student workers and Pathway leadership to enhance our students learning experience by ensuring classes, events, and facilities are well supported at the Rock Creek Campus and across the service district. They liaise with a variety of stakeholders to perform a full range of administrative support duties. IAA 2s work independently, responding to a variety of situations. Successful IAA 2s have the ability to make sound decisions regarding whether they are able to provide appropriate support or seek assistance from the lead administrative worker or Program Dean. The scope of this may include developing work schedules, onboarding, and providing ongoing support. Remote work and the use of technology to perform duties off site may be needed.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of administrative support experience or one year in a position equivalent to IAA I (NOTE: College or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the administrative experience requirement.)

Starting Salary Expectations
The first two steps of the range are: $43,310 and $44,610 per hour. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)

  • Starts at 8 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of service)
  • 8 hours of sick leave per month
  • 24 hours of additional personal leave days per year
  • 11 Paid holidays

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions or changes in work flow. Occasional lifting, guiding, or carrying of light-weight materials or equipment may be required. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Learned physical skill is required to perform keyboarding and/or ten-key functions.
