Rappahannock Community College ( RCC ) is a two-campus institution serving a rural and diverse 12-county area in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia, whose mission is to provide inclusive access to exceptional training and educational opportunities meeting the communitys needs and preparing individuals for success as learners, employees, and citizens.

This position is a 12-month professional faculty appointment. Excellent benefits package; anticipated hiring range is $68,653 to $78,000, commensurate with experience and credentials. Immediate appointment. As a two-campus institution, the Coordinator will have a presence at both campuses (Glenns and Warsaw) regularly.

Reporting to the Dean of Strategic Enrollment Management, the Coordinator of Student Success provides leadership for a comprehensive program of one-door onboarding, academic advising and retention at Rappahannock Community College as part of a college-wide initiative focused on student recruitment, retention, engagement, and completion of degrees, certificates and credentials. Areas of responsibility include providing supervision, leadership, and access to professional development for college navigators and working in tandem with other supervisors of high school and home school navigators to support the students academic journey.
The Coordinator of Student Success integrates the goals of the Vice President of Instruction, Assistant Vice President of Instruction, the Dean of Student Development, and the Dean of Strategic Enrollment Management into the goals of one-door onboarding and advising adult students toward academic progression and completion. Engages a team of college navigators to complete routine activities, strategic projects, campaigns, and other assignments in support of department goals and in order to meet the needs of students. Oversees budgets for Chancellors Success Coach initiative grant and the Advising department.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing leadership and participating in the recruitment, outreach, and admission process of prospective and new students. Developing and implementing a comprehensive proactive outreach campaign calendar for 0-29 credit students to support student academic and financial planning. Providing guidance, training, and supervision of College Navigators and in the advising process. Developing and maintaining an Early Alert retention campaign calendar and intervention process. Supervise and leadership for the Student Success Team and liaison to dual enrollment and workforce teams. Provides leadership for the coordination of accommodations for students with disabilities. Oversee budgets for the Advising department, Chancellors Success Coach initiative grant and other grants supporting coaching.
Additional responsibilities include participation in professional organizations, conferences, and training programs annually.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.


KSA's/Required Qualifications
Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Higher Education Administration, Student Development, or related field. Progressively responsible experience in higher education, preferably in an admission, recruiting, advising/counseling, enrollment services environment, student support or equivalent experience. Considerable experience with customer relation management tools such as Navigate, or PeopleSoft/SIS. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a community college setting. Demonstrated knowledge of ADA law and accommodations. Demonstrated experience in progressively responsible roles such as leading and managing projects and/or supervising staff. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with implementing and managing change in an organization. Proficiency in Peoplesoft/SIS, Canvas, Navigate, CRM Salesforce, XAP, WES preferred.
