Summary
Teach credit bearing courses as part of the School of Music, Theatre & Dance arts leadership curriculum (ARTSADMN); deliver exemplary in-class pedagogy, leveraging best practices around diversity, equity and inclusion; provide mentorship and guidance for enrolled students; provide timely, detailed feedback to students on all course work and assignments.
Course Description
Profound changes in 21st century America, including demographics, philanthropy, technology, public policy, cultural preferences, and aesthetics, are all disrupting the norms of how classical musical activity is organized. This seminar-style full term course is intended to familiarize students with the systemic issues and perspectives that impact how we can achieve a just, equitable, and relevant classical music ecosystem; and aims to equip students with the critical thinking skills necessary to play an active role in shaping the future of musical life in America.
Required Qualifications*
Graduate degree in arts management or commensurate professional experience; prior demonstrated success as an arts executive at the national level, broad knowledge of public policy and national strategy of classical music organizations and fluency on related topics in arts management, entrepreneurship, and/or leadership courses; established professional profile within classical music and knowledge of related national policy.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
