SUMMARY
Video production coordinators ensure that every aspect of a production runs smoothly. They play a crucial role in program production by initiating creative approaches, organizing schedules, technology and people. They are involved at each stage of a project, from initial planning, scheduling, writing, storyboarding, researching, recording, editing, graphics, archiving, and streaming. A qualified candidate creates compelling videos by utilizing well thought out visuals, timing and music using state of the art equipment. Experience in all aspects of production including live events and preproduced content is a must.

 

Essential Job Functions
● Direct, design, script, produce, shoot and edit video content, both live and edited, in support of instruction, staff development and college communications
● Stream live, interactive content using a variety of online conferencing tools
● Create 2D and 3D animations and graphics utilizing industry standard professional software
● Supervise Media Production contingency staff including interns and freelance employees
● Coordinate with I.T. Media Events Coordinator
● Manages projects ensuring timelines and deliverables are met and meet expectations
● Supervise College Channel operations including content management, assuring weekly schedules are programmed correctly and that media content and system databases are in order
● Coordinate schedules, concepts, resources, events with clients and staff
● Guide and instruct staff on the use and application of video technologies
● Coordinate the maintenance of field and studio production equipment and digital footage archive
● Provide a long-term technical plan and set an appropriate direction for the purchase of production equipment
● Oversee system design, purchase and installation work to assure the best use of funds and equipment
● Maintain a positive relationship with GRPS by serving as the primary representative for the K-12 Channel
● Regular attendance during normally scheduled hours is required with flexibility when covering after business hours events. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this
position.

 

Marginal Job Functions
● Assist campus podcasting efforts
● Encode digital video content for multiple modes of delivery, including resolutions ranging from HD to 8K
● Assist Communications Team with social media content
● Consistently apply metadata to content in order to make content searchable
● Provide quality assurance to products outsourced to other staff and/or freelance help
● Evaluate new technology and provide analysis
● Keep equipment organized, neat and orderly
● Stay current with industry advances and innovations through professional development
● Supervise drone maintenance, licensing and operations. Pilot remote controlled aerial drone

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education/License
● Bachelor's degree in video production, multimedia content creation, or related field required.
● Current FAA Part 107 drone operator certif

 

Work Experience
● A minimum of 2 years of successful work experience in video and multimedia content creation required
● Strong professional video camera operating skills, including tripod, hand-held, and studio required
● Experienced in studio and location professional lighting techniques required
● Experienced capturing and editing high quality audio in various environments
● Experienced in content creation through the lenses of disability accommodation and live, interactive events
● Successful experience working with diverse populations preferred
● Leadership skills and experience supervising staff preferred
● Experienced streaming on various platforms
● Experienced training users on the use of technology
