Typical Duties

1. Faculty Leadership Duties:

  • Supervise, evaluate, and develop professional development opportunities for assigned faculty.
  • Manage and supervise faculty grade and reporting deadlines.
  • Evaluate adjunct faculty, supplemental instructor, and lab assistant professional development needs and participation
  • Evaluate the educational content in the syllabi of courses for quality and consistency
  • Develop, maintain, oversee and adapt the divisional course schedule for both credit and non-credit offerings.
  • Act as divisional point of contact for internal constituencies regarding all aspects of the course schedule.
  • Assist in leading the development and implementation of Competency-based programming for the Division.
2. Faculty and Staff Hiring:
  • Use data from program income and expenses, enrollment trends, periodic program reviews, and the matrix to assist in determining faculty staffing needs.
  • When existing faculty positions become vacant, complete a review of the instructional needs for the program, review the job description, and make recommendations to the dean.
  • Chair and/or sit on hiring committees.
  • Oversee all aspects of temporary work appointments including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, overseeing and evaluating of existing and new hires.
3. Campus Activities
  • Coordinate faculty orientation and notify all divisional faculty of orientation events.
  • Coordinate professional development events and notify faculty.
  • Assist with the recruitment, orientation, and retention of students
  • Collaborate with the educational and community outreach programs coordinators to offer non-credit and community outreach programs
  • Develop the budget for the instructional needs by meeting with divisional faculty to review and plan the fiscal budget, approve budget expenditures
  • Coordinate regular meetings with divisional faculty.
  • Direct the offering of dual and concurrent classes to the local high schools and prepare the IGA for each high school; collaborate with the campus recruiter on Dual/Concurrent enrollment; monitor student enrollment in Dual/concurrent classes to meet state statutes
  • Work with faculty serving on the Dual E Advisory Committee to arrange observations of Dual E classes,
as needed
  • Oversee all aspects of program advisory boards to ensure programs are meeting community needs
4. Administrative Activities:
  • Evaluate staff performance by completing the MPEP process by the established deadline
  • Coordinate and finalize the faculty evaluation process
5. Schedule Development
  • Collaborate with peers on the creation of the college-wide schedule using college data to determine the schedule
  • Review the data with faculty in the development of a draft schedule
  • Assign faculty to courses
6. Curriculum Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with faculty in the creation, revision, and documentation of curriculum
  • Assist in the development, implementation and review of standards for assessment and quality to support course consistency in accordance with approved curriculum, state, and HLC guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing planning and evaluation of instructional degrees and certificates.
  • Fully support, in all applicable decisions, the college mission, vision, values, and philosophy and ensure all forms of cost-effective and high-quality educational content is delivered in a timely manner
  • Monitor the periodic program review process for departments.
7. Assessment Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Assessment to ensure that programs follow the process of assessing
student learning and assessment reporting.
8. Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, or Career and Technical field
  • 3-5 years experience in professional environment
  • 3-5 years experience in secondary or postsecondary educational environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master Degree in Business, or Career and Technical field
  • Supervisory experience
  • Event planning education or experience
