Position Summary

Under the general direction of the ProjectAttain! Board of Directors and the Chancellor of the Los Rios Community College District, the Grant Program Executive Director will be responsible for managing all operations for ProjectAttain!, and carrying out its mission according to the strategic direction of its Board of Directors. The Grant Program Executive Director will lead all aspects of ProjectAttain!’s operation, including but not limited to: budget development, planning, and management; leadership of all programs and initiatives; hiring and supervision and all full-time, part-time, and contract employees; fundraising and new resource development; all operational and administrative functions; serving as chief spokesperson for the organization with the media and other public settings; and developing and cultivating partnerships with key public and private organizations in the region.

The Grant Program Executive Director is responsible for ensuring progress toward regional goals and organizational strategies and is responsible for the overall quality and impact of the organization’s efforts. The Grant Program Executive Director is the primary coordinator and manager of the organization’s projects and outputs, as well as the primary advisor to the Board Chair and Executive Committee. This position oversees and supports the work of staff, fellows, contractors, consultants, and professional service providers. This includes day-to-day responsibilities of delegation, strategic counsel, facilitation of internal and external collaborations, effective communication, and accountability for self and direct reports for work plans.

Assignment Responsibilities

The Grant Program Executive Director will set the overall direction of the organization in partnership with the ProjectAttain! Board by, but not limited to:
  • Serving as principal advisor to the ProjectAttain! Board of Directors, including Board development, management of administrative functions on behalf of the Board, supporting the Board in development of Board policies and/or bylaws as appropriate, and ensuring effective and equitable representation on the Board among regional partners.
  • Securing sufficient resources for organizational operations.
  • Building and maintaining a supportive and effective organizational culture.
  • Establishing priorities, ensuring progress, and reporting on strategic plan components.
  • Serving as the chief spokesperson for ProjectAttain! and raise the organization’s regional, state, and national profile.
  • Representing ProjectAttain! at meetings, conferences and collaboratives.
  • Developing, planning, and managing organizational budget and fiscal priorities.
  • Working with key staff to establish key performance indicators, work plans, and conduct year-end assessments and evaluations.
  • Establishing, documenting, and maintaining internal policies related to human resources, workflow management, and internal information-sharing.
  • Overseeing organizational workflow to ensure progress toward desired outcomes and accountability of staff.
  • Managing and providing professional development for staff, fellows, contractors, consultants, and professional service providers.
  • Reinforcing organizational culture and commitment to equity and mission.
  • Advocating for changes by participating in the legislative process, engaging the ProjectAttain! networks, partners, members, and Board and making the case.
  • Giving formal presentations on behalf of ProjectAttain!.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Have a bachelor degree from an accredited institution completed by June 1, 2023.

2. Have one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment.

3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

Salary

$197,412 - $213,685 per year. LRCCD Salary Schedules

Additional Salary Information

Additional stipend for an earned doctorate from an accredited university.
