Financial Aid Associate

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide general receptionist and clerical support to the Financial Aid Department.

 

Key Measurable Expectations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, the general public, and College personnel;
  • Use appropriate telephone etiquette as calls are received and/or re-directed;
  • Respond to student inquiries and requests;
  • Explain financial aid programs; procedures, and requirements to students;
  • Assist students with financial aid application process;
  • Review documents for completeness and accuracy;
  • Review and order financial aid forms for accuracy;
  • Assist with sending/receiving FAX mail;
  • Maintain copier, printer(s), and fax machines;
  • Order and maintain office supplies;
  • Order and maintain U.S. Department of Education, IL state, and financial aid office forms;
  • Monitor lobby computers and assist students with electronic FAFSA completion and student loan procedures;
  • Assist in training and monitoring student worker(s).

 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school graduate supplemented by office technology course work;
  • Six months experience in office environment;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Microsoft Word experience;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Ability to be flexible and manage priorities in a multitask environment

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree;
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Lotus Notes, Image Now and internet
