GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under limited supervision, provides excellent student-centered instruction in the English as a part of our Languages and Communication department. Performs administrative, record keeping, and educational work related to instructing students in a traditional seated setting.

Under limited supervision, provides excellent student-centered instruction in the English as a part of our Languages and Communication department. Performs administrative, record keeping, and educational work related to instructing students in a traditional seated setting.
ESSENIAL DUTIES:
- Instructs seated/face-to-face English and First-Year Experience courses incorporating a wide variety of teaching methods.
- Fosters a collegial relationship among colleagues and partners.
- Supports the student access, success and completion agenda.
- Maintains attendance records, syllabi, lesson plans, student learning outcomes, programs, and more as required by BCC/NCCCS/SACSCOC.
- Maintains open and professional communication with BCC students as well as with faculty, staff, supervisors, and administration.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Availability to each seated/face-to-face sections of college-level English courses.
- Masters Degree in English from an accredited university or a Masters Degree from an accredited university with 18 graduate hours in English.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse faculty/student population and strong interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED:
- Experience teaching college-level English courses
- Experience teaching at a community college in the NCCCS.
- Ability to use Microsoft office, Office 365, Moodle
OTHER RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge and support of College policies and procedures
- Must have the ability and vocabulary required to communicate with all levels of staff, faculty, subordinates, students, and the public in the performance of the job.
